Author Janice Levy emphasizes loyalty, hope, disappointment, love, sadness, and anger–emotions that most every child experiences in transitioning away from life with his or her biological parents.

Levy concludes Finding the Right Spot with material written by a child psychologist for caregivers on dealing with the emotional needs of children whose biological parents can no longer care for them. Young adoptees may benefit from reviewing this material with a therapist or social worker, discussing it with their adoptive parents, or from revisiting it alone later in life.
